I have over 12 years experience in the digital industry and I am the founder and primary consultant of Barrio Digital. With a focus on social media, mobile and video content, I have advised over 50 brands and businesses looking to innovate and cut through the noise of the digital space.
I started my career in the social content start-up, Engagement Intelligence. Thanks to our success with brands such as Sony Pictures, PlayStation and Microsoft, we were soon acquired by the IPG-owned agency, Momentum Worldwide. In my first role, I set up and grew a global network of freelance researchers and influencers that assisted the start-up in crowdsourcing local knowledge across 30 markets. This community, dubbed the Intelligence Network, analysed hundreds of case studies and conversations around the world to inform the first global social strategies for brands such as Coca-Cola.
Four years later, I left to lead social media and content teams in top media agency groups. Firstly by heading up the Social Labs at Aegis Media, a team of 8 specialists providing services to the whole group; and afterwards joining HAVAS MEDIA to launch Socialyse in the UK – an internal brand that would later expand into several markets in Europe and South America.
In 2014 I left my position as Global Head of Community and Social Media at hibu, to start my own venture. Having connected with great professionals all over the globe, I brought them together as ‘the Collective’ – a group of digital experts who form the network of Barrio Digital.
Since September 2016, I have been working as a freelance training facilitator for the Google Digital Academy, delivering their Mobile Masterclass to clients in the EMEA region.
